Sustaining Power

As one dying upon a cross

We count this world a loss.

With nothing but God’s only Son

Eternal life to us has come.

It is a marvelous plan of grace

To see God’s love in Jesus’ face.

The only light we have is seen

Shows to us that holy scene.

Yet there he shines in the night

To lead us to the realms of light.

By his word, he is sustaining

Those whose earthly lives are waning.
